Dropping the Scarcity Mentality and Operating Out of Desire

This podcast episode was inspired by a conversation with a 1:1 client that I thought was so good and juicy, you guys needed to hear this message, too.

So she dropped into What’s App one day, and was talking about her attraction marketing strategy and how she feels like her desperate or lack mentality is not going to attract clients to her. And when we pulled the threads at her lack and scarcity mentality, what we found was so interesting to me - but definitely not uncommon. You see, my client is as safe as can be. She has the support she needs, she has the money she needs, her bills are paid, she has a home, she’s got clients in her business - she is safe. But despite being safe with her money, she has this feeling of desperation, lack, and scarcity that she is creating through her thoughts of needing more clients, more success, just more in general when it comes to her...

What If You Just Fully Fucking Accepted Yourself?

I recently had a client ask how she could change the habit of sleeping in, in order to become her highest self.

Instead of giving her tips like creating an evening routine so you go to bed earlier, listening to subliminals while you sleep, rewarding yourself for waking up early - I asked her what the big fucking deal was with sleeping in.

I encouraged her to ask herself what she was making it mean that she was sleeping in. 𝘏𝘪𝘯𝘵: Society tells us that sleeping in is lazy. But is that objectively true?

𝘏𝘪𝘯𝘵: No. Lol

We realized that she actually was a night owl, and was just shaming herself for not doing her work earlier in the day - even though she got plenty of work done when she slept in and worked in the afternoon/evening.

My question to her, and to you, is the same.

𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟?

Your problem is that you’re living under the But’s - But if I let myself sleep in, I won’t get any work done. But I’ve never had that kind of...

What I Realized About Business Once I Got Engaged 💍⁣

This year, on my 29th birthday, my high school sweetheart proposed to me and asked me to be his wife! We’re so excited.

And you should know, I’ve waited foreverrrrr for this moment - we were 15 when we started dating. And about 5 years ago, I really started to wonder when the ring was coming.

It became a running joke in my family (Dustin was super happy about that ), and I would think constantly about what it would be like once we were engaged and could plan our wedding.

I always knew the ring was coming, even when it wasn’t a physical manifestation yet. And when a couple years went by and I saw everyone else getting engaged, married, having kids (𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦!), I started to wonder when it would happen for me.

𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝!  And every little thing over the past 14 years didn’t matter anymore.

Your business is this way, too.

Every investment you’ve made, every task you’ve completed, every late night you’ve spent...

You Can Build a Business Without Overcoming Imposter Syndrome

But why would you want to?

It would be like going up a mountain without any water. Sure, you can get to your destination - but how was the journey?

Were you stepping more and more into your power, taking every step in stride, feeling rejuvenated and hydrated? Were you positive you’d make it?

Or were you looking around and anxiously stopping along the way, trying to preserve your energy? Did you feel scarce, anxious, and unsure? Were you constantly questioning your every move and wondering if you were gonna make it?

No, the inner work isn’t a requirement to making money in entrepreneurship. But you’re here for more than just “making money” - this is your life’s work. You want to grow, scale, build an empire.

And while the way you’re trudging up the mountain may be working, it isn’t sustainable.

The way you’re...

The Reason It Takes Time To Get To Your Next Level

The reason why it takes time to get to your next level is NOT because “it just takes time”.

You see your success as a flight of stairs that you’re climbing - it all feels very restricted, rigid, and linear.

But it doesn’t have to be this hard. It doesn’t have to take such a long time.

Every time you uncover another layer of why you feel unworthy, you remove a heavy brick from the wall of your unworthiness. You acknowledge that part of you, validate that part of you, and release - and you give yourself permission to level up.

Feeling Like You Are Always Wrong?

You’ve always felt 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨.

Your opinions didn’t feel legitimate until they were validated by someone else.
Your ideas were kept secret because you thought they were stupid.
Your feelings felt unwarranted because you thought you had “no right” to feel that way.

You’re always looking for the right thing → the right decision, the right path, the right message.

Did it ever occur to you that the answer is to fully fucking accept yourself for who you are and then go from there?

The problem isn’t that you’re wrong. The problem is you’re making everything about you 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮.

You’re allowed to be here.
You’re allowed to take up space.
You’re allowed to have your juicy, exciting ideas.

You created your business to break free of the very thing you’re letting stand in your way - an employee mindset that follows the rules, constantly looks for guidance & validation, and believes that everything is...

Why should I work on overcoming my inner imposter early on in my business?

When I’ve asked more seasoned entrepreneurs what they wish they focused on more in the beginning of their business, they alllll told me - 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭.

Because, it all comes down to the beliefs you hold about yourself, the world, money, and making money, honey.

And it all comes down to the thoughts you have, how you respond to those thoughts, and then the stories you allow your thoughts to tell you.

When you 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 focus on mindset early on:

you’ll create limitations around what you can & cannot do
your strategy will fall flat because there’s no belief or energy in the execution
you’ll take every rejection personally
you’ll spiral and then disappear, lacking consistency

When you 𝘥𝘰 focus on mindset early on, you’ll:

break through limitations because you know everything can be figured out
rebound from setbacks faster
de-personalize rejection
maintain consistency because you trust yourself & your path

There’s lots of ways you can...

Do You Think That Your Biggest Insecurity Is Why You're Not Good Enough?

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡.

Why you should hold back, and play small.

Why someone wouldn’t want to buy from you.

𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭.

Because this is the meaning you’re giving your story. And because you whole-heartedly believe this, you hide. You don’t talk about your services how you wish you could. You don’t have boundaries with yourself or your audience/clients.

Whereas someone with the exact same story as you, could be using it as her hero story. As to WHY she’s good enough. As to why someone would want to buy from her, because she’s unapologetically herself and embraces the parts of her that she knows other people can relate to.

And she’d be right, too. Because she’s choosing for this story to empower her, instead of letting it keep her small.

This is why 𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨-𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐍𝐋𝐏) is so powerful. NLP allows us to access those subconscious stories and...

Shame Is Your Default Setting

So I don't know about you, but I always get my best ideas while driving!

The other day while driving, I started thinking about being relatable and how I often share my real raw experiences with my audience.

So I never want to use really vague examples.

Whenever I'm talking about something, I use my own life and something that I've experienced and that I'm struggling with.

And even if I'm currently struggling with that, I'll be very open and transparent with my clients because I really believe that it is important and people really need to hear that they're not alone.

And that's because shame is our default setting!  Shame is what we resort to because it was how we were raised.

A lot of this generation was raised on shame.

I think about the time where I went to the grocery store with my family when I was like 8 years old. And I stole like one of those tape gum things.

I took it out of my pocket and showed it to my sister once we got into the...

What If My Family & Friends Judge Me When I Start Showing Up Online?

Let’s say you’re a Mindset Coach who uses human design in their business.

If you grew up around people who used human design often and who thought running a coaching business from social media was the norm, you wouldn’t be constantly questioning if they think what you’re doing online is weird.

And that’s because your paradigm, which is defined as a pattern of being or a model, is different than what they’re used to.

And typically, people who aren’t committed to mindset work or personal development aren’t actively changing their paradigm.

There’s nothing wrong with what you’re doing, it’s just 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 from the paradigm that the people around you have used to.

When you’re around people who get what you’re doing, whether that’s in person or online, it’s less likely you’ll question if what you’re doing is 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 or 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨.
